Visitor Safety & Infection Control Guidelines

To help protect our home care clients, aged care residents and workforce, our priorities are to reduce the risk of transmission, ensure the people we care for continue to receive quality aged care services, and ensure that everyone is fully informed and empowered to make the choices to live a full life.

At Catholic Homes, we follow the National Outbreak Management Guideline for Acute Respiratory Infection, including COVID-19, influenza, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in Residential Aged Care Homes. Our infection control and prevention practices align with the Department of Health and Aged Care guidelines.

Current Infection Control Measures

When there is no outbreak or exposure to COVID-19 or other respiratory infections

  • Masks are not required for team members or visitors.
  • Temperature checks continue to be conducted via Zipline.
  • Visitors must check in using Zipline when visiting any residence.
  • Rapid Atigen (RAT) Test is not required.

During a COVID-19 or another respiratory outbreak

  • Team members must wear an N95 mask, eye protection, and other PPE.
  • Visitors must wear an N95 mask and eye protection.
  • Site-specific guidelines apply – please get in touch with the facility directly for further details.

What to do if you feel unwell or test positive after visiting?

For visitors to our facilities

If you test positive for COVID-19 after visiting a loved one, please inform the facility so they can monitor their health.

For visitors to our Home and Community Care Clients

If you become unwell after your visit, we encourage you to notify Catholic Homes.
