Catholic Leader brings wisdom and wit

Who would have thought that a well-run organisation is like a cheese board?

Catholic Homes recently had the honour of hosting noted leader Ms Eva Skira AM as part of an ongoing focus on leadership, and governance.

Central to this is formation, or preparation for service, which are top level sessions that are help guide our leaders with ‘mission leadership’ at Catholic Homes.

Our Board and Executive heard from Ms Skira (pictured front row second from right) at its latest formation session and benefited from her decades of senior experience for government, corporate and Church organisations.

“Eva demonstrated a creative approach in navigating discussions around constitution, culture, and relationships,” Executive Manager Mission Rose Santoro said.

“Just as a well-curated cheese board consists of diverse elements that complement each other, a successful organisation or community requires a harmonious blend of constitutional principles (hard cheese, like a Reggiano Parmigiano), cultural dynamics (soft cheese, like a Brie), and positive relationships (runny cheese, like a Burrata). This metaphor may highlight the importance of balance, variety and thoughtful curation in addressing complex issues within these realms.”

“From her perspective, a cohesive alignment with an organisation’s vision, mission, and values is paramount, serving as a guiding force for all,” Rose said.

Eva’s commitment to steering organisations towards their ‘true north’ reflects not only her professional acumen but also her dedication to fostering a purpose-driven and values-centric approach to leadership and governance.
