Improving your health and wellbeing so that you can remain independent and at home, rather than going into a long-term care facility is exactly what our Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) services are designed for.
If you need interim support from our healthcare or home care teams this range of services might be suitable for you. Our teams will work with you to improve your ability to tackle household and daily tasks.
The Federally funded STRC program aims to improve wellbeing and independence to help you to continue to live in your home.
You could be eligible for STRC if you’re finding you need help with everyday tasks at home or slowing down a bit mentally or physically, or both. Depending on what you need, STRC may include assistance such as GP services, help with cooking meals, audiology if hearing is becoming an issue, brain training for people with dementia or memory loss, podiatry, cleaning and tidying at home, help with medication management, or emotional support from our caring and respectful team.
An Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) member will be able to let you know if you’re eligible to receive Short Term Restorative Care. Eligible people can be provided with care for up to eight weeks and you could be entitled to two rounds of assistance within a twelve-month period.
