Meet Tammy

Tammy is enjoying her independence at home, thanks to the team from Catholic Homes.

She particularly enjoys the close bonds she shares with her Support Worker Jade and Case Manager Nicky.

An avid artist, Tammy has painted for a time, until it was easier to switch to pencilwork.

Her treasured landscapes adorn the walls of her Dianella unit where she has lived since the early 1990s.

Her love for the bush and Australian landscapes comes from growing up in northern New South Wales where her parents worked as country doctors. Later, she fell in love with husband Ron, and the Pilbara region, after moving to Tom Price with him for work.

Her strong faith gives Tammy a quiet inner peace. She looks forward to daily visits from her daughter and sharing the Holy Communion with her friend Helen every Friday.

“Receiving the Host from the parish is peaceful and everything just goes right,” Tammy said.

Her thoughts on a good life are to always look forward and to rely on the Lord.
