Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD)
Our response to older people is formed upon our Christian heritage and is expressed in our Care with Purpose approach.
Care with Purpose is encompassed within the healing ministry of Jesus Christ where we uphold each person’s dignity and, in this spirit, recognise in our creation in God that life is sacred from conception to death.
The deliberate hastening of death is incompatible with our commitment to the sanctity of life, dignity of the individual and the uniqueness of each person throughout the entire continuum of life.
Catholic Homes Incorporated does not support Voluntary Assisted Dying and will not provide or facilitate Voluntary Assisted Dying.

Catholic Homes is committed to encouraging the reporting of any instances of suspected unethical, illegal, fraudulent or undesirable conduct involving Catholic Homes’ businesses and provides protections and measures so that people who make a report can do so confidentially and without fear of intimidation, disadvantage or reprisal.

Privacy and Confidentiality
Catholic Homes is committed to the principles outlined in the Privacy Act 1988 and Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012 and has in place procedures that ensure compliance with the legislation including the protection of sensitive information including health information.
The Resident/Client Handbook outlines our approach to maintaining privacy and confidentiality of Resident/Client information. We use the OAIC document, 10 Steps to Protecting Other People’s Privacy, as a guide to our privacy processes.
