Festival of Lights

Our Diwali celebration at Trinity was a great success this year as staff and residents enjoyed a fun cultural exchange.

Anu, one of our amazing carers, shared some authentic Indian treats, Laddoo, milk cakes and samosas with staff and residents.

Anu and fellow carers Thuy and Indika also donned beautiful traditional Indian costume, much to everyone’s delight.

Residents also had an opportunity to try on a few Indian shawls as well which they loved! We spent the afternoon dancing, eating and learning the meaning of Diwali (Festival of Lights celebrated by people following Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism).

Diwali symbolizes the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
